When we have years of backlogged emotional struggles it takes only the slightest wind to turn the soil and surface those old hurts no matter the truths we now know. They have been grounded in our hearts and dug deep seeking roots in us for far too long. We’ve believed the lies long enough that no matter the distance we’ve put between us, we’re quick to let them overwhelm with the smallest spark of their memories.
But we can’t let ourselves live in these memories. We must relearn and reteach our hearts to be secure in the relationships we presently live in, listening to the truths we now speak to each other.
