Not only is the new Black Key’s single, “Lonely Boy,” on par with old school rock, their first listen video features a man we could all learn a few good moves from.
Enjoy and have a lovely weekend!
I love the power stance at the end…
Back to a little TedxNashville action. I think you’ve had enought time to sit with everything Ashely Judd had to say and you’re ready for another one :)
Jeremy Cowart is a photographer who has toured with Britney Spears, shot Sting and is brilliantly creeping his way into music videos. In this talk, Jeremy discuss the organization he started, Help-Portrait which is set up in the photography community to bring a little love to the underprivileged by simply taking their picture.
Again, a little disclaimer that this is a 20 minute video so make sure you have a little free time before you sit down to watch.
They’re finally here! I’ve been waiting so long to share a little taste of my TedxNashville experience with you. And after almost two months, they put up some of the speaker’s talks!
It was hard to choose which one to share first, but I kind of had to give you Ashley Judd. She had a whole different talk prepared, but instead told us about the lives of some of the people she came in contact with while working as an activist and who we can live in love and action.
It’s very heavy subject matter and hard to hear at some points. All these stories are extremely heart-breaking. And of course is 20 minutes long, so make sure when you watch this, you have to time sit down and really take it all in.
I’m excited to share some of my other favorites over the next couple weeks!
I’ve got some pretty talented friends and it’s great to see them working toward their dreams.
Right now, two of my good friends are working on their first short film, Last Words of Robert Mintz. I’m so excited to see this all happen for them and can’t wait to watch the final product.
This team of brothers is currently in the funding stage of their project and have set up an IndieGoGo page to reign in some help. You can watch a short teaser trailer that they put together (filmed in my living room! ) to get a feel of what the film will be all about.
If you like what you see and believe in their vision…maybe think about contributing. You can be a part of making a real movie and helping someone achieve their dreams.

I hope this Easter weekend finds you in the midst of people you love remembering our gift of life.
I’ve posted a video titled The Portrait of Christ created by Jeremy Cowart. He’s a photographer here in Nashville with an compassionate and creative heart. I love how he uses so many different ethnicities to create the image of Christ.
While we were up in the woods (now I’m singing auto-tuned Bon Iver…) this past weekend, the fam and I took a drive through some beautiful scenery. At the end of the trail was an old homestead by the river. Apparently the family who lived there had 9 kids. 9 kids! In this tiny little house!
Here’s a little video I took with my 8mm app at the homestead.
“Look at him right now. He’s playing to a baby.”
“I’m never gonna dance again. Guilty feet have got no rhythm.”
I do believe this is the best thing to ever happen to a George Michael song.
This week I’m thankful for:
Seeing The Civil Wars at the Belcourt.
I’m so excited for all the hype these two have built. Their debut album hit No. 1 on iTunes this week and I know this is just the beginning of many wonderful things for them. Here’s a video I shot during the show. The Civil Wars are known for their haunting covers like “Billie Jean” and “Talking In Your Sleep.” Here’s their take on the classic “You Are My Sunshine.”
Finishing my second read of Jane Eyre.
I love the classics and Jane Eyre is definitely one of my favorites. Love, mystery and a woman making her own way- what’s not to enjoy? I didn’t even know there was a new movie version coming out when I started reading this time around. The movie is going for a super gothic take on the book and I have to admit, it looks pretty good. Here’s the trailer…
Now to find a new book to get into. Any suggestions?
Guilty of loving birds and this video.
I’ve been thinking about blogging for quite some time now and I figured I might go crazy thinking about it if I didn’t just do it. (I tend to be one of those people who stay up late thinking about things until I can actually get them done or at least just write them down on paper.) So here it is.
My friends and I like to craft and hang in the kitchen so this blog is going to help me share all our experiences (success or fail). I’m also figuring out that I’m visually inspired (thank you Pinterest.com), so I thought it would be fun to share the things I find lovely, crazy and of course…inspiring.
I’m going to leave you with a little video I put together of our snow day from last week. My roomie miraculously got the day off from work so we bundled up and took a walk to one of our favorite places- Burger Up. We’re hoping for a repeat tomorrow :)
(if you haven’t downloaded the 8mm app for your iPhone yet you’re missing out)
Thanks for joining me!
